So the sisters sent word[a] to him, saying, “Lord, behold, the one whom you love is sick.” And when he[b] heard it,[c] Jesus said, “This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, in order that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” (Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.)
